- Gut disorders (IBS, constipation, bloating, diverticulitis, etc)
I have completed several post-graduate short courses in genetics such as Foundations in Nutrigenomics and Manuka Science. My main focus is patient consultations. However, I also work at Netcare Linksfeild hospital as a locum dietitian, working in the ICU, medical and surgical wards. I also consult to an international genetics company.
I am married, with 2 children. I love spending time with loved ones, trying new recipes, solving puzzles, hiking and gardening.
What is Dietetics and who is it for?
A dietitian is a nutrition expert who is skilled in helping you achieve your health goals through food, nutrients and a supporting lifestyle. There are several conditions a dietitian can assist with. Over and above the earlier mentioned special interest I have, I can assist with cholesterol, blood pressure, irregular glucose levels, heart disease, insulin resistance, thyroid disease, gout, arthritis, osteoporosis, anaemia, heartburn, cancer, immune support and more.
I offer a variety of consultations to suit your unique needs. I can provide an individualised meal pack that includes portion guides, meal ideas, recipes, goals, education and more that is tailored to your specific daily routine, preferences, lifestyle and medical background.
I also offer sessions where you can pick the brain of a dietitian if you are not interested in an individualised meal plan pack. We can discuss your burning questions, guidelines on a particular health concern such as cholesterol, or a once-off session on tips for healthy living like your supplement regime or healthy meal ideas.
I also provide consultations for receiving Discovery Vitality points.
If you aren’t sure what type of consultation best suits your needs, give me a call and we can discuss it together.
Sessions can be one-on-one, couples, or small groups, either face-to-face or online.
I strive to provide my patients with regular support and motivation, as making health changes can be challenging and has its ups and downs. Everyone is capable of making changes that allow you to be the best version of yourself. Sometimes you just need an extra helping hand to guide you to that success.
